The University of Memphis Clarinet Studio is the place to be, whether you are looking for a career in music or want to continue your musical studies in college while pursuing a non-musical career. The clarinet studio normally consists of a variety of levels, including music education majors, music performance majors, Masters Degree and Doctor of Musical Arts students, as well as non-majors and music industry majors.
We are committed to providing a high quality education at an affordable price. Merit based scholarships are available for undergraduates, and assistantships are an option for graduate students. In addition, living in a city like Memphis provides many opportunities for freelance work and teaching.

The Clarinet Studio is a close-knit group that supports one another but also offers friendly competition. Every semester starts with a blind audition which determines ensemble seating and provides excellent audition experience. The studio is small enough that with hard work, you are likely to get experience playing in wind ensemble and orchestra before you leave, but big enough that you will probably have to spend some time practicing and improving before making it into both of those ensembles.
My goal is to encourage your love of music, while at the same time pushing you to improve and meet goals. Lessons are clearly structured, and you will always know what is expected of you. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions about the studio!
